Hi, I'm Jo and my love affair wih horses started when I was about 4 although i didn't own my first horse until I was 18 and could buy it myself. I did however have understanding parents who got me riding lessons from the age of 6 and allowed me to spend all of my weekends exercising ponies and later down at the local stud farm where i learned more about horsemanship than most horse mad teenagers. Later, I was happy with life as a scientist so long as I had my horse to ride in the evenings and weekend. Even when he was diagnosed with navicular and we could only hack. Even having a family was great, more equines arrived of the pony size and kids to teach riding skills too. Then we moved and the old boy (bought as a foal, now 24) was taken ill and had to be put down. Life without my own horse even though we had the ponies was not for me and my wonderful Hummy arrived on the scene. Read on and follow our journey!
